Artist and Author

I've loved to draw and make stories since I was little, and I've been practicing constantly at it since then. I like to think thousands of hours of practice has made me a lot better, but sometimes I learn the funniest and best things watching how children draw my own characters!

Adventuremice: Of mice and mummies

Adventuremice

This series started when I was painting little pictures of my model ship collection, and thought the pictures looked better when I added mouse sailors. Eventually I asked my friend Philip Reeve if he would work with me to turn these little Adventuremice into a series, and now we have so much fun together imagining what these brave little mice will get up to! You can read them in the order we made them, but you don't need to; each book will work just fine as a stand-alone story. Published by David Fickling Books, they're the perfect bridge from picture books to longer books with chapters, and you'll never open the pages without spotting a hand-painted watercolour illustration. You can even buy original illustrations in the online shop at Adventuremice.com! There you'll also find lots of fun, free drawing activities and resources.
