This series started when I was painting little pictures of my model ship collection, and thought the pictures looked better when I added mouse sailors. Eventually I asked my friend Philip Reeve if he would work with me to turn these little Adventuremice into a series, and now we have so much fun together imagining what these brave little mice will get up to! You can read them in the order we made them, but you don't need to; each book will work just fine as a stand-alone story. Published by David Fickling Books, they're the perfect bridge from picture books to longer books with chapters, and you'll never open the pages without spotting a hand-painted watercolour illustration. My first eight books with Philip Reeve combine wild flights of fancy with gripping plots, humour and warmth. Our first four books are stand-alone stories, and our second four make up the series about Kevin, a loveable roly-poly flying pony with a passion for custard cream biscuits.
