giant rhubarb in the sanford co-op

I overslept a bit this morning, so I only managed to get as far as the Sanford Housing Cooperative garden to draw, and I rushed and didn’t get anywhere near finished. But it’s beautiful in their gardens, and Gordon who looks after the plants and 30-year-old koi fish told me that this plant’s called a Gunnera plant He says, if I think this plant is big, I should see them in Devon where they grow as big as huge trees, sometimes lining the hilltops.

Just saw this animation by Aleksey Budovskiy at Figli Migli Productions, which made me very happy. (Thanks, Greenwich Phantom for the link!)
