dynamite duo

I made this picture for my illustrator friend Susan Burghart for her wedding day, but then I caved in and sent it to her early. Hang in there, Susan!

The speech bubble is a Napoleon Dynamite reference, we both like that film a whole lot. We grew up in the same state but Susan grew up ‘east of the mountains’ (nearly N.Dynamite territory). That gave us lots of room for teasing each other at art college because I’m ‘west of the mountains’ and since we were living in London, no one knew what we were talking about. Apparently we western kids are known for being preppy mall rats and them eastern kids are known for big hair, lots of make-up, getting pregnant early and being really nasty when you have to play them at soccer (they bite).
